Task/Problem Overview
This document will cover how to create specific comment lines that can be added to a quote to help organize large showroom or sales quotes.
Creating a Comment Part Number
Let’s begin by creating a new item for your comment. Go to Inventory > Inventory Manager > Item Manager.
Select ‘New’ to open Inventory Creation Wizard.
Select Next, now you will select an Inventory Type ‘Line Comment’
Enter the static comment, in the part number field. I.e. Master Bath, no need for UPC, or Description and select Next.
On the Characteristics tab, mark the item ‘Non Taxable’ , then select Next
Once the finish button appears select it, as there is no need to enter any further information. Your item has now been successfully created and ready to use on an order. You can repeat this process to create many static comment lines to be used on quote/orders.
Using Comments in Quotes
Now that your comments part numbers have been created you can now add these to a quote.
Go to New > Quote/Order and enter the customer’s information within the header.
Enter the Comment part number in the Part Number field. You will notice that the number of the row will change to Purple (this means it is a Line Comment inventory type)
Using comments in addition to subtotals allows you to create professional, clear quotes for your customers and or vendors.
